Here is a question that many people are asking as we are moving into Phase 3 of BC’s reopening. People are gathering again and starting have started to have get togethers. There are many questions that go along with that.
How do I wash down all my furniture before and after someone comes over without ruining it, and at the same time being able to keep everyone safe who comes into contact? You may have been asking yourself, “What kind of furniture do I need to create a space that everyone can social distance and feel comfortable in?”
It’s a great question, and though we can’t answer it directly, as every person’s needs vary. What we can do is provide some suggestions for people who are looking at creating a simpler environment within their home when they are having people over and entertaining guests.
Furniture such as leather and faux leather, are by far the easiest to clean, and the easiest to maintain. So when it comes to going with an easy to wash furniture, leather and faux leather couches, chaises, and recliners are your safest bet. If you are going to be wiping down your table and chairs, and other wood furnishings on a weekly basis, we do strongly recommend using a wood protecting spray to stop your wood for warping from the continual wipe downs.
In terms of spacing if you are concerned with spacing, we suggest purchasing additional chairs for your dining room, and or living room to create additional seating for your guests. This will ensure that you can provide a safety net of social distancing for those who come into your home.
