When you are living in a condo or apartment, it is all about space, and functionality. What is the best thing to have where, and what will you be needing that space for that will serve it’s purpose and ensure you have the functionality that you need. One of the biggest issues most apartments owners or renters find is whether to put in a kitchen table, big or small, or just to put bar stools at the kitchen counter.
That question can be very complicated because it all depends on how many people are in the apartment, is the space used just for eating or does it serve other purposes. If there is only a little space for a very small kitchen table is it worth it to have it, or are you just better off to put the bar stools in the kitchen and sit around the living room if you are gathering in a group.
The answer really is about what do you need, and at what times of day do you need it. Do you have 4 people sitting down for supper? Is there enough space around the counter to put 4 bar stools, or does everyone eat at different times of day? Do you all sit down as a family and play card games, board games? Do you entertain, or do you just share that space with one other person? If it is just you and one other person it might be easiest just to have the bar stools. If however, you all sit and eat at the same time, you entertain, or you and your family like to participate in games which requires sitting up, a kitchen table might be in order.
Though you may have to maneuver things a bit to create more space for your table, you may have to move your living room over a foot or two if you need a bigger table, or just get a smaller table with leaves, that allows you to put it up if you have more than 2 people who sit at the kitchen table at the same time.
