Moving is one of the more stressful life events. Studies show it’s right up there with divorce and death. So, take your time. Do the things you need to do to feel calm and collected during your move. Are you able to hire movers? Can you enlist the services of a cleaner to help with your final move out clean? Can you schedule yourself a massage at the end of the big move?

How can we help?

Did you know that Pallucci Furniture offers sofa disposal services? We also offer free in town delivery with the purchase of new living room furniture. Just because you’re moving doesn’t mean that couch you’ve fallen out of love with needs to come with you! Moving is a great opportunity to say “out with the old, in with the new.” Especially if it’s stylish, well crafted, and on sale!

If you do decide to move with your furniture, take these tips into mind.

First off, don’t skimp on the right packing supplies. Often moving truck rental companies will also rent you furniture covers, extra large boxes for dressers and coffee tables, and cloth tarps to protect your furniture. Take advantage of these services. The price you will pay in carefully protecting your furniture will be worth it in the long run!

Next up, take things apart. Sure it may be a little inconvenient, and even time consuming, but it’s the right way to move furniture. Pieces like bookshelves, coffee tables, bed frames, dining room tables, and lamps should be dismantled before they are loaded into the truck. Make sure however, that you have safely stored the hardware to put it back together again!

Happy moving!
